Why does anything still surprise me?

Seriously, folks, you have to check this article out.

They have created a "simple, 20 minute outpatient surgery" that puts a TUBE in your stomach, so that after you eat you can go "release" 30% of your stomach contents. They have found a way for people to have their cake, and eat it too.

What have we come to in this society?

"People without weight problems don't understand. "I don't want to be seated at the table with an empty plate. This way I can eat together with my friends and my family, I can drink my beer or wine if I want to. And then I can just let go of 30 percent.""

I'm sorry, people WITH weight problems don't understand. The sense of entitlement in this country has gone way past crazy.

The direction of this country scares me more and more everyday.

  1. That's.... the worst thing I've heard in a while. Seems like it is going to promote eating disorders and make sure the people who have it never lose weight ever. Yikes.

  3. Bulimia without the damage to your teeth or esophagus but the added bonus of serious infection risk resulting in death. BONUS!!

  5. That is just wrong on so many levels. It completely eliminates any need for self control. And you are so right, people in this country now feel entitled to EVERYTHING without working for ANYTHING. You want money/house/phone/medical/food/or XYZ just ask the government. You have a medical questions, ask google because it is immediate instead of taking time to go to the doctor. You want to lose weight? Stick a tube in your gut and drain out 30%. WTH seriously.

We definitely live in scary times, that's for sure.

  6. I saw this too but thought they could eat and get rid of it all. I wondered how anybody could know if they were getting proper nutrition. I suspect anybody who would do this does not care much about nutrition. :(

  7. You know, I think back to when I was desperate. I would have probably fallen for this. Anything but being in control. It does seem ridiculous but it is scary for me because I know I would have done something crazy like this. God has had his hand on me. Take care.

  11. I read about these a bit ago. I know I have become more successful with my lifestyle changes when I focused on being healthy instead of skinny....this just does not seem like a good idea to stay healthy.
