So, Interestingly Enough...

Obviously, I've been MIA for a bit.

Husband managed to get not only a bladder infection and UTI infection, but also a prostate infection! (poor guy) After spending a bit of the weekend at the ER, we have been on the road to recovery for the past couple of days. I've been running my butt off (literally, haha) trying to take care of him & the kids.

He's still recovering, but I think we are on the road to recovery. Crappy part is, we leave for the beach in 9 days, and his antibiotics he's on is "sun sensitive". We are debating as to whether that means to stay out of the sun completely, or make sure to use SPF 50 sunblock. Anyone know?

I checked the scales this morning, the first time since I've started my challenge and everything went haywire, and it does read 287! Of course, that would mean I would have to lose 2 pounds by tomorrow to make it 5 pounds for the week....

  1. He just needs to make sure he stays slathered in sunscreen (re-applying at the correct intervals and after swimming) and probably ought to take a hat and shirt down to the beach, just in case.

Does he drink a lot of caffeine or carbonated drinks? I have a cousin who kept getting horrible UTIs and prostate infections and his doctor advised him to cut out his Mt. Dew habit (which was extreme). After he did that, he's not had an recurrence of the infection.

    Hope he feels better soon!

  2. @FC - Yep, you nailed it! He drinks way too much carbonated beverages. I thought he would have learned last year when he had kidney stones, but not so I guess. Needless to say, he's switched over to my water mantra, haha.
