Yesterday, I was starving.

And I don't mean just a little bit - I was fighting hunger pains all day long. It wasn't being thirsty either.. I fit in 120 ounces of just water. I hadn't altered my exercise, I hadn't altered my eating. It was just one of those days.

I honestly had to stop at one point at work and just breathe - I haven't been this hungry in a LONG time. Who knows what was going on- probably something jacked up with my hormones.

Last night I went home and binged. I ate the following, in slightly higher moderations that normal: watermelon, brussel sprouts, peas, and salad (that included spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers, no dressing.) In the end I was finally satisfied, and I actually lost weight this morning.

Those are good binges. Those are the binges I will continue to have, lol. It just goes to show - no matter how much you think you have your eating under control, there's always going to be that one day.

  1. Hormones are a bitch. They are real, they alter us, and we need to figure out how to deal with them - exactly in the way YOU did, and not BLAME them for any diversions from our plan. I have read "I had PMS so I ate a pan of brownies. I couldn't help it!" WAAAAYYYY too often... I am sure I myself have written it before.
    Nice "binge" chica

  3. I think it is very significant that you binged on healthy things. Your body was telling you something. You listened. If we are craving food, we must be deficient and you satisfied it with healthy choices. I think what you did is a great example that we don't have to binge on junk. I wouldn't even call it a binge really. You were feeding your body. Take care.

  4. I had the same thought as Kelliann. I can remember in my youth having days when I could not get filled up and wondering why the same amount of food on other days would have been so much that I would have been totally uncomfortable. Hormones for sure. Great that you could get filled up on healthy food. :)

  5. Your body needed some veggies! I'm sure it cleaned you out too (if you know what I mean). A little off topic but roasted brussel sprouts are delicious...
