Background: Since I have lost this weight, my cycle is on schedule. 25 days in between each, on the dot. My last cycle started and ended on May 27-June 1st. I am scheduled to start again on June 21st.
In preparation for my 10K, I have been ramping up my exercise the last two weeks. I have exercised every day, either strength training or running, sometimes both the same day. For these last two weeks, I have been spotting regularly. Nothing major, just notice it in the bathroom. Mostly it's darker color, sometimes it's red.
Is this a normal thing with exercising every day?
Yes. I noticed a similar thing a while back, and also the other day when I heated up on the treadmill. I did ask my doctor about it and she said it was normal. Oh the joys of being woman. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm super regular after losing weight and I exercise. I've never experienced spotting in between though. Maybe ask a doctor or a nurse that you know?
ReplyDeleteI think you should be seen by your provider. I'm a nurse. Its probably nothing, but better to be sure.
ReplyDeleteDoctor's spent years getting an education to answer these things. Go to one now..
ReplyDeleteI've never had spotting at any time in my life including pregnancy, but what's "normal" for one person isn't for another. That said, I'd go with Hanan and have any off-cycle or irregular bleeding checked out.
ReplyDeleteStress also plays a part in the spotting; cycle change, etc...I had spotting and weird things around age 35 (13 years ago)and my cycle changed, ughhh, and agreed--get it checked out.
ReplyDeleteIt happens to me, too. It usually happens after a super excellent session of exercise and then a bit off and on for a few days.
ReplyDeleteGet it checked by Dr. Vajayjay because every body is different so you can't really go by what another chick is sayin' unless you're only looking to feel less alone with the spotting (which is fine, too). However, I can give you an example of someone who just Googled symptoms and listened only to other parents on the Interwebs who had kids with similar symptoms and then didn't simply schedule an appointment with their pediatrician. It's a kid who lives in my building that was walking around limping all of a sudden and his parents kept telling him it was "growing pains" because that's what they "thought" it was. It wasn't...it was something FAR worse and his mom and dad putted around the issue (for MONTHS) even though I'd see the poor kid barely able to walk up the hill to collect his sisters at the bus stop.
While what you are experiencing is most likely normal and I honestly have NO intention of scaring you with the story of Puff's kid, I just want you to know that it's better to be safe than to be sorry.
On Monday, make that appointment and get ready to "scoot down" closer to that really neat heat lamp ;)
